The card is primarily designed to protect business and home computers (desktops) where users produce new data all the time (e-mails, work files, Internet downloads, applications updates, etc.) and make frequent configuration updates (new applications, new games etc.)

How Does Radix Protector Work?

Radix protector stores the information needed for recovering the protected HDD (i.e. File allocation table (FAT), Partition table, CMOS Setup data, etc.) in a secured (hidden) area in the HDD.

Radix Protector starts its protection prior to the HDD booting stage so when a failure or unauthorized changes are detected, Radix Protector instantly restores the original HDD content (HDD Image), and the hard disk is immediately restored to its original status.

In order to update the original HDD image (i.e. install new software or update existing files), the Administrator unlocks the protection, using his secret password, then relocks the protection when update is completed.

As an added safeguard, Radix Protector contains a special built-in algorithm that prevents destructive actions from overwriting the protected hard-disk area. This also stops the boot process in the rare case where the card itself might become damaged (or is removed).

Radix Protector includes the "Reserve" mode for experiencing new software or other changes. In "Reserve mode, Radix Protector keeps all changes and new installation, and updates the material in a dynamic buffer (temporary data area). All changes and updates will remain as is until one of the following options will be selected:

Reserve (Keep) - Stores all changes in a temporary data area in the HDD
(a dynamic buffer)

Recover (Auto) - Restores HDD original image and clears temporary data area

Save - Permanently saves all changes and clears temporary data area

Radix Protector eliminates all changes made in a protected partition. New incoming data (i.e. e-mails, Word files, etc.) is not an exception, and is considered a change (a violation)

New incoming data must be stored in an unprotected partition (data partition).
The contents of the data partition can be moved to a protected partition for permanent protection, as an automatic routine procedure.
