Panasonic is absolutely convinced that the 2009 Design Award winner JS-950WS Stingray will revolutionise the market for PC-based cash register systems. Its open architecture and a versatile, modular system will change the market fundamentally.
Essentially, the Stingray concept is based on the idea to provide customers with the exact custom-tailored solutions they need. With its open platform, the Stingray integrates easily into various environments. Hardware upgrading options made easy guarantee long-term use – components can be exchanged separately. Combined with the reliability of Panasonic products, your customers' investment costs drop significantly.
With its open PC architecture, the Stingray class systems are suitable for virtually every operating system and cash desk application, regardless of your customers' requirements. This includes basic commercially available software as well as custom-tailored POS solutions or extensive logistics systems. The JS-950WS provides sufficient resources to define new standards for POS processes and ergonomics. All software and hardware components and functions are configured to meet every requirement that your customers need.
The enormously fast 3.2GHz Intel Celeron D CPU and up to 2GB integrated memory make the Stingray the perfect choice as a single POS station or a professional unit in an integrated POS network. The cash register system completes demanding back office tasks and extensive POS requirements at high reliability and speed. Multitasking is no problem for the Stingray either – an advantage that increases efficiency even further. The JS-950WS is also downward compatible. Existing peripherals are continuously used without errors and can be replaced gradually to optimise costs.
The horizontally adjustable 38.1 cm (15'') or 30.5 cm (12'') touch display with dual backlight offers high contrast at high resolution. The displays are available as resistive or capacitive versions. This makes the Stingray compatible with a large range of applications, from crowded POS areas to demanding production facilities.
The 38.1 cm (15'') display is installed either horizontally or vertically, which makes it possible to use a large display in areas with very limited space. The installation of the display requires only a few moments and no tools. After simple software-controlled adjustment of the display, the terminal is immediately ready for operation.
The Stingray can be equipped with various mass storage options. This includes several hard disk modules and a CF card module. A 2 or 4 row customer display can be installed on the customer side. Instead of a common customer display, you also can choose an active 21.3 cm (8.4'') LCD display with touch screen (optional). In this way, ordering information is displayed to the customer who can also actively interact with that LCD in the payment process.
The Stingray enables advertising at the point of sale even without an LCD display. A compartment for advertising panels on the customer side is part of every standard version of the Stingray. It helps to generate extra returns with individual advertisements. A convincing advantage that shows the versatile application of Panasonic cash register systems. Used for promotions and protected by a cover, advertisements can be changed in seconds and without tools.
Furthermore, the Stingray can be equipped with various ID modules, even after installation. The integrated Dallas lock is especially useful in catering. Use it for the proper allocation of goods or for identification through the optional fingerprint reader or magnetic stripe reader. These ID modules also satisfy various ergonomic requirements, as they can be mounted on both the right and the left side of the display.
To ensure uninterrupted operation in highly frequented areas or demanding environments, the Stingray is protected against liquids, static electricity, dust, dirt, impacts, oils, high temperatures and moisture. It offers all the reliability and durability that your customers expect from Panasonic, which has sold more than 1 million cash register systems worldwide.
The new Stingray from Panasonic System Solutions Europe provides a flexible concept that allows your customer to adapt the system to continuously changing conditions. Your customer can add, replace or change memory modules as easily as the LCD display. The system allows you to change the orientation of the 38.1 cm (15'') display to a vertical position and to attach ID modules wherever they are needed – all without ever needing a technician.
